Can strangers see or change my family tree?

Short answer

No. A new tree is visible only to you and the relatives you invite, and only people you make editors can change it.

No. No one else can see a new tree until you invite them, and there is no public directory of trees to browse. Each person you invite gets a role: viewers can look, editors can add and change records, and admins can also manage members and settings.

If you want to show part of your family history more widely, you can create a share link. It can be switched off at any time, and it leaves out people who may still be living.
